In this paper, a special purpose algorithm for solving large eigenvalue problems based on the Lanczos method is successfully applied to an engineering problem: the electromagnetic analysis and design of passive waveguide devices. For dealing with such complex problems, the boundary integral‐resonant mode expansion (BI‐RME) technique has been recently proposed. This technique solves integral equations (IEs) through the well‐known method of moments (MoM), thus leading to structured eigenvalue problems. These problems frequently become very large when solving complex arbitrary geometries with high accuracy. In such cases, the eigenvalue problem cannot be efficiently solved with standard methods by means of personal computers, essentially due to CPU time and memory allocation requirements. In this paper, we propose an alternative technique, based on the Lanczos method, for the fast and accurate solution of large BI‐RME generalized eigenvalue problems. The novel theoretical aspects of this approach, as well as the impacton the original BI‐RME formulation, are described. Herein a novel Dyadic Green's Function (DGF) is presented to calculate the field in ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) chamber. Due to the difficulty of simulating the whole chamber environment, the analysis combines the DGF formulation and the FEM method, with the latter deals with the reflection from absorbers. With DGF formulation for infinite periodic array structures, this paper investigates electromagnetic field in chamber with truncated arrays. The reflection from the absorber serves as the virtual source contributing to the total field. Hence the whole chamber field calculation can be separated from the work of absorber model set-up. Practically the field homogeneity test and Normal Site Attenuation (NSA) test are carried out to evaluate the chamber performance. Based on the method in this paper, the simulation results agree well with the test, and predict successfully the victim frequency points of the chamber. 相似文献

Current solid and surface modeling methods based on Euclidean geometry in traditional computer aided design are not efficient in constructing a large number of atoms and particles. In this paper, we propose a periodic surface model for computer aided nano design such that geometry of atoms and molecules can be constructed parametrically. At the molecular scale, periodicity of the model allows thousands of particles to be built efficiently. At the meso scale, inherent porosity of the model represents natural morphology of polymer and macromolecule. Surface and volume operations are defined to support crystal and molecular model creation with loci and foci periodic surfaces. The macroscopic deformation behavior of a fiber-reinforced aluminum-boron composite is investigated. Different periodic and random arrangements of the microstructure are considered with macroscopic hardening behavior due to the evolution of plastic zones on the microscale being taken into account.
For the solution of the initial boundary value problem, a non-standard algorithm is applied. It consists of the direct solution of the whole set of equations, treating all variables as global quantities. Simple and accurate closed‐form formulas obtained by using a differential evolution algorithm are presented for the synthesis of coplanar waveguides (CPW). The results of the synthesis formulas proposed in this article are compared with those of the quasi‐static analysis, the synthesis formulas reported by the other researchers and also the experimental works available in the literature.
